A different type of bridge is the resin-bonded which uses brackets that are bonded to the side of the abutment teeth. The cantilever bridge, on contrary, is comprised of only one crown attached to one abutment tooth. Bridges can be constructed from porcelain, alloys, gold, or a mixture of these components. The choice of material is based on the area where the bridge will be placed and the insurance coverage you have. The dentist will take images of the area where the bridge is to be placed to determine what materials will be suitable for you.
