People seek private investigations, when they need some information and evidences, where police cannot conduct investigations. Sometimes clients may hire the services of a private investigators, even where police is investigating the case. For example, in a missing person investigations the private investigator can be hired, even when a police complaint is made. In most cases clients hire the services of a private investigator, where government or police do not have jurisdiction and authority of investigations. For example, in cases relating to extra marital affairs, personal investigations, corporate investigations etc. the services of a private detective is hired. So the main purpose of a private investigator is to provide information to the client.
